About Us

Pirate Coffee Company was est. in 2004 by Barry and Sharon Philpott. Yes, 22 years in Depoe Bay, as of 2026!

Barry is a former US Navy Aviator, turned Executive in his "business career years", Sharon a former Educator with her Masters Degree, turned Executive assistant in her "business career years"; all prior to creating "Pirate Coffee Company".

In 2013, Barry and Sharon retired.  Today, their Middle Daughter, Shae runs the Coffee Shop and most of the family works/helps out! You'll see Shae's son and daughter helping out in between college classes.  Shae's sisters Bree and Amber help as well.

Barry and Sharon can be seen randomly around the coffee shop as well, helping and cooking up some delicious treats! The only sibling that does not "help around the shop" is Bart, the oldest son as he is a retired military member and currently Flys for Jet Blue out of Florida!
